The ‘Launch Your Franchise’ competition has been running since late last year, offering the winner the opportunity of securing a full franchise development project valued at over $150,000, and delivered by the leading franchise consulting firm in Australia and New Zealand - DC Strategy.

After receiving close to fifty entries and following a thorough judging process over the last few weeks, DC Strategy was thrilled to announce the winner on Friday, 26 March 2021, at the Sydney Franchising & Business Opportunities Expo during an all-exclusive event assembled by the show organisers.

The judges included; FCA Chair Brendan Green, Poolwerx founder John O’Brien, Just Cuts GM Amber Manning, Motto Motto’s COO Matt Fickling, William Edwards from Edwards Global Services, Inside Franchise Business Executive Editor, Sarah Stowe and DC Strategy Founder and Chairman, Rod Young.

 

 

The first-place prize was awarded to The Fish Factory, a popular bistro based in Brisbane that serves a wide range of mouth-watering meals with tables both inside and outside the fish market. They serve the very best fresh seafood that Brisbane has to offer, seven days a week, with both takeaway and dine-in options.

The Fish Factory has won a full franchise development program, consisting of a comprehensive step-by-step franchise project offered by the DCS Franchise Group, including 6 months of franchise marketing and advertising supported by competition partners, including; Hubspot, Redcat, DC Strategy Lawyers, Benjamin & Benjamin, Seek Business, The Franchising Expo, Compass Fitouts and more.

Second and Third place winners will also benefit, all winning a comprehensive feasibility program offered by the competition founders. The DCS Franchise Group have been involved in developing franchise systems for some of Australia’s most famous chains for almost forty years.

The second place prize - valued at over $75,000 - went to Gnocchi Gnocchi Brothers. With multiple store locations, this dedicated restaurant offers dine-in, take away, and home delivery options serving fresh, hand-made gnocchi and other authentic Italian cuisines. 

As the judges’ scores were extremely close, there was a joint third place, awarded to The Peanut Butter Bar – a passionate diner who presents the world’s first peanut butter tap amongst their other peanut butter inspired dishes with dine-in, takeaway and online options, and finally - The Pizza Boys – the energy-filled brothers who are committed to delivering delicious pizzas to any event or party. Both businesses will receive a prize value of more than $25,000 each.
